Meet Dr. Charles Rico
Dr. Charles Rico is a Naturopathic Doctor and Licensed Acupuncturist. He believes education and empowerment are essential vehicles on the path to wellness. He has extensive experience in supporting: stress relief, sleep, digestion, metabolism, pain, and cancer-related side effects.
Dr. Rico is passionate about expanding access and awareness of the benefits of holistic medicine. He is currently involved in several clinical research and health equity projects in the field of integrative oncology. He hopes that the data from these studies will shift healthcare policies to increase access to integrative services. During the start of the 2020 pandemic, Dr. Rico helped to design and implement a hospital-wide stress relief program for frontline workers that continues to this day.
He received his Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and his Master’s in Acupuncture from the University of Bridgeport, where he graduated with honors. During his studies, he received the Golden Needle Award for his dedication to the mastery of acupuncture, Tui na, and moxibustion techniques to better serve those in need. He received further clinical training through Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Acupuncture Training Program.
Dr. Rico believes health and wellness are the summations of harmony in mind, body, and spirit. In his spare time he meditates, practices qigong, swings kettlebells, and practices martial arts. He loves to explore the world and learn about different cultures and especially foods!
